the brown family

As you will know, posts on this blog are usually limited to ramblings about our recent holidays. However we have had a couple of triumphs lately which I thought I would record on the blog for posterity.

#1: Meccano
When I was a lad I never used to be able to complete this. However, when Nathan was given a set for his birthday recently, I thought I'd have another go. With the boys helping of course. And guess what...ta da...

#2: Fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in my children / The Big Society
When David Cameron talks about the Big Society, I know he means this. It was Sam's idea when he woke up last Saturday morning to sell some stuff and make some money for charity. Well, half for charity. So he collected up all the books he didn't want any more, set up a stall out the front and hey presto! with his brother he made £4.16 (which is a lot since the books were 20p each). (Not sure where the £0.16 came from). I was dead chuffed with him.
